Cost of a North Carolina Property Survey

A survey is a highly technical and complex service utilizing the art of measuring, mathematics, and the proper interpretation of real property law.

A Professional Land Surveyor can survey your land Only according to the deeds and other available information.

The surveyor's fee will include the time to search for deeds or court records, locate the physical boundary evidence at the property, make the necessary computations to check the boundary, place appropriate markers on the property, and prepare the survey map.

The cost of the survey will vary because of missing corner evidence, disputed boundary lines, rough terrain, heavy underbrush, vague deed descriptions, weather, and travel time to and from the property. Because of these variables, it is sometimes difficult for us to predict an exact cost or when your survey project may be completed. Most survey projects are completed within 21 days of notice to proceed or sooner. Each individual survey project will typically have a unique cost.

Other survey price variances and additions will include additional services needed such as elevation certificates, benchmark surveys, as-built surveys, maps required to be printed on mylar paper (due to specific County requirements to record) as well as expedited survey project requests needed for completion less than 21 days. Any additional services required will be indicated on the emailed estimate for client approval.

Once the deed research is completed for a requested survey project and we deem we would be able to complete the project in a timely manner, we will email an estimate to the client for their specific survey project needs. When we receive emailed approval for the estimate and approval to proceed we will add their survey project to our calendar for completion.
